Laurah and Biju Klepinger-Mathew are teachers in the Sivananda style of Hatha Yoga. A certified teacher since 1997, Laurah has taught in Yoga centers, studios, schools, and community centers in the U.S. and in Sivananda Yoga ashrams and centers in Canada, the Bahamas and South India. From 1999-2003, she taught Yoga to dance majors and non-majors in the Department of World Arts and Cultures at UCLA. Biju received his certification in 2004, from the Sivananda Ashram in Neyyar Dam, in his native Kerala. He apprenticed under KG Jagadeeshan, in Goa, India, in 2005-2006.
They currently live in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, where Biju maintains a freelance teaching practice in and around Kovalam. Laurah is conducting dissertation research on "Globalized Yoga in South India," beginning in April, 2010.
